My grandfather is diabetic, but he won’t stop eating SO MUCH dessert. Every family function we have, he’s always going back for seconds and thirds. How can we stop him from eating too much sugar?

This is probably not what you want to hear, but the best thing you can do for your grandfather is to just keep sugar away from the party. If you save the family favorite desserts for special occasions only and perhaps cut everyone a piece and put the leftovers away, this could stop him from being tempted to eat so much. Also, encouraging him to work out and explaining to him the benefits of both exercise and diet, could encourage him to do better.
