We’re very sorry to hear that! Although taking the steps to restore one’s financial identity can be unique to each person’s situation, it is usually a good piece of advice to call these credit bureaus after a case of identity theft:

  • TransUnion- 1-800-680-7289
  • Experian - 1-888-397-3742
  • Equifax - 1-888-766-0008

Calling each of these bureaus directly will eliminate any confusion between them and allow their records to be kept orderly. At this point, you will also be able to issue a fraud alert which is essentially a statement to warn creditors that a breach of your personal security and identity has occurred.
