A person, or community, is said to be food insecure when they don't have reliable access to adequate amounts of nutritious food due to lack of money or resources. Seniors that are food insecure are at an increased risk for chronic health conditions compared to seniors who are not food insecure. There are many nutrition resources available for seniors in need.
