During surgery to repair a broken hip, doctors repair broken bones with screws and pins to hold it in place during recovery time. Depending on how bad the fracture is, the doctor may decide to do an entire hip replacement. Your loved one will probably need to stay at the hospital for about a week before physical therapy services will begin.
