My elderly mother has schizophrenia, and now I'm worried that I will have it when I get older. What can I do?

Although late-onset Schizophrenia is relatively rare, there are some cases in which the disorder is passed down, but that's not always the case. Make sure to talk to your doctor if you start to experience mood swings, hallucinations, or other psychological issues. We realize that this can be a difficult issue to deal with, but it's important to take care of your own mental health instead of ignoring it until it gets even worse.
